Seems to be the case. Perhaps he doesn't realize that even something simple as impalas on pumps wear out 3 times faster with pocketing in aggressive salt water. Not only is the breakdown an issue, especially if its complicated by not having spares on site, but its also the effects on production prior to that...less pressure, less volume etc. Apply this across the whole plant list and your points a well warranted.
This is why regardless of what maintenance programme has been in place the past couple of years, you are on the money calling for an audit.
Compound this with the drill rig that blew up in Skaaland when it should have been replaced earlier on a proper schedule, then there does seem to be an overall pattern of maintenance failure across the projects and not just islolated incidents..
Have they checked the condition of the bolts holding the walkways around the plant? It all adds up.
