Hi guys just a couple more comments on seawater and rust…Picture provided is indicative of rust but not known to be from MRC plant…An audit of the effect of seawater would be greatly appreciated though. A few are already seeing the relevance along with mounting maintenance concerns…Ideally maybe it would have been a better option to have fresh water used instead of what was readily available and within sight of the plant…Just because the beach was close is no guarantee that seawater is the best option…
Rust covers can prevent rusting but at considerable cost…Can anyone confirm rust protection barriers were used before Seawater was introduced…Is there a coincidence that maintenance issues have risen since the introduction of seawater being used over a fresh water alternative…
At what point is too late for barrier protection of steel frame works stairs and railing…Salt water even degrades concrete so a very important factor to prevent corrosion from happening…
Can anyone give reasons why spid81 decided to cut and run from this conversation while the project is heavily reliant on processing seawater…Imo an independent audit would give greater transparency and credibility to the projects…
