Used to be a member of my local country club which was one of the cheapest going around (~$1200 a year)
However, there was a much more prestigious club not far away that I always wanted to join but it was $1000 joining fee + $4k annually.
As a younger bloke who was keen to get onto those nice private courses, I probably would have jumped on it if there was a BNPL option available..
