My understanding, or maybe better said..my experience is, they can't do that. The risk of oppies is they need to be at a certain price by a certain date...that's the whole game with them. If companies can push out the dates due to drilling programmes to increase the likelihood of options being exercised then everyone would just buy options...you'd be mad not to if they could move expiry dates around to suit whatever they needed.
