If you're new to the game the answer is research and lots of it.
Think of it like this
In the beginning you are a mug boxer going up against a pro and will get knocked out most rounds.
Every time you buy or sell you are betting against someone else.
Research three hours a day and treat it like work. Specialise in one or two minerals.
Just my guess anyway and don't lose heart, learn from it
