May be a silly question, but has anyone heard anything further on tax ruling:

"Whilst Neometals considers the Capital Reduction and In-Specie Distribution should qualifyfor Demerger Relief, Neometals has applied to the Commissioner for a class ruling to confirmthis position." (short prospectus, s.2.26)

Or is this something that is likely to come some way down the road?

My reading of 2.26 is that without the ruling, the In-Specie shares are treated as dividends and assessable against income this FY, with the ruling is a capital reclassification and assessed on asset disposal?

Obviously not looking for tax advice here
