This is interesting -apologies just stumbled upon as clicked on your last post.
This is a lovely post.
Yes the Mt Isa greater region is believed to have been explored fully through many decades— as I understood it also.
This is very interesting.
Was glad to get to Cloncurry in September on a roadtrip. Trying to see and check out the immense amount of exploration and potential for major discoveries in the greater Mt Isa / Cloncurry (& into NT ) to Charters and north and down through the inland of the Qld coast into Central Qld.
Was good to actually see a few significant mines and talk to some workers - notably Ernest Henry (before Evn now fully acquiring) and Ravenswood + was in Pajingo and Mt Charlton territory.
Found interesting was a comprehensive minerals display in Cloncurry, and museums in Charters Towers, and Mt Morgan- reading how the Mt Morgan mine company back in the 1930s? invented the chemical method to remove the gold from ore at Mt Morgan , tricky as it is covered & bound tightly, pyrite associated, all in the heavy ore.
Be wonderful to site visit with good geologists at these prospective sites up there
Flood event a few years ago lead to interesting rock samples opportunity around Cloncurry after major erosion and washouts from the floods. With visible and significant gold in rock samples then I recall reading.
Round Oak ( SOL subsidiary) had land and processing facility. Another not so reputable company was briefly in spotlight and posturing about potentials for mining adjacent to Round Oak land.
But in the same tone and story as you’ve written here , & discovery must be incredibly difficult— this archive article from several years ago on Minotaur Exploration. Minotaur is soon to be no more, but will go on exploring & hopefully real potentials finally realised for Jericho and their Cloncurry holdings, under banner of new company, to be Demetallica early next year :
