Gold is holding steady above US$3000 this morning as US economic weakness stokes recession fears, and boosts hopes for rate cuts.
UBS has now raised its gold price target to US$3200, saying “inflows into gold ETFs have accelerated, driven by uncertainties, central bank demand, and the Fed’s outlook.”
Analysts at UBS also see pullbacks as a chance to grab more gold, suggesting 5% of any balanced portfolio should be in gold for long-term diversification
