The sell off is occurring because the market can not decide weather the economic down turn is going to cause deflation or the tariffs will cause inflation.
There appears to be a push and pull scenario, in any event companies normally get dragged down with the market.
We have three factors I see at play that reflects history.
1 Civil war 1850 internal political issues in many countries.
2 WW1 1914 global war
3 Great depression. trade war 1930s
