RMS hold 20% of SPR which is really like being carried free, its better than a mine sharing arrangement. RMS will have around 1.5 billion in the bank by 2026 which protects RMS from any downside in the market.
The Euro and Pound has nearly risen by 5% above the USD over a month, this will probably accelerate as the market loses faith in the USD. If the USD falls by 50%, gold will probably be valued in Euro, which could occur by December.
What can the US use to protect their wealth, not US bonds, shares, or bank deposits, maybe Euro or Pounds but that would just deflate the USD more. I think US banks and institutions will head for gold. If you look at Turkey their exchange fell from .75USD to .027USD over 15yrs , dictators are not good for exchange rates. Turkish workers keep money in US accounts.
If the US does suffer a currency crisis the world will dump USD at lightening speed. 10 trillion USD foreign currency reserves dumped Imagine the effect on the gold price in a world recession.
Interesting day RMS 16% drop. Seems like the market has a lot of borrowed money and margin calls. When the market is full of hobby traders, this is what happens with a little bit of fear. The gold price is still $4600 AUD and everyone scatters because the US buckles.
