The Jupiter Pit project is on the very edge of a large salt lake complex, hence the standing water. Rains have been relatively heavy this Summer but this proximity to the surface water will have been taken into account by engineers. Goldfields at St Ives have highlighted how much mining can be completed on the very edge of such features.
