"fd" likely stands for "field duplicate" in the spot pXRF table[see link]. Field duplicates are samples collected from the same location as the original sample to assess the variability of the analytes at that location. Collecting field duplicates is a standard quality control measure in JORC compliant sampling and analysis to ensure the reliability and reproducibility of the assay results.
