Yes you would be right mainly a discretionary purchase , unless for commuting , company does state it is getting into more of the second hand market so maybe that makes their sales more affordable ?
I read once you are 18 times more likely to die in a motorcycle accident compared to a car for the same time frame you are on/in either - so yes far less safe , how that influences purchases I dont know , although anecdotally until I was 30 as a rider I never thought much about death being linked to my riding
Probably still perceived as mainly a male activity although I do see lots of young women on small scooter motor bikes riding to work - maybe a sub market there ? There is also the new electric motorbike market which aims towards those with a greenie outlook .
