It depends whether you adhere to a rigid and idealistic classification of the terms exploration and appraisal.
You can argue that if a second well elsewhere on the same structure provides information that together with information from a previous well that proves a working hydrocarbon system is in place allows mapping of the lateral extent of a reservoir then technically you could argue the second well is an appraisal well.
The term "duster" is an old and rather obsolete term like "wildcat" that is poorly defined. A well that proves up a working hydrocarbon system but fails to yield a sample of hydrocarbons 100% due to technical difficulties is not a duster IMO.
