4000-5000m is usually where reservoir quality usually starts to get iffy. There are exceptions though as Strike proved with their West Eregulla-2...the presence of certain minerals in sandstones can impede the growth of secondary quartz and result in fair reservir quality at depths of around 4-5000m.
