Wireline equipment is no different....even the baskets the tools get shipped in are charged at a daily rental. To have logging tools sitting for months on site doing nothing is cost prohibitive. You also have other issues such as tool primary calibrations becoming out of date during the time theyre sitting at the rig. I've never worked a job where wireline has turned up at spud....its just not done.Wireline tools often come to site from multiple sources......more than one base and sometimes they come straight from another job (not ideal bit it does happen). Sometimes getting all tools to site in one package is just not logistically possible.
