If they were attempting to run the formation tester then they must ave successfully completed the previous GR/Res/Sonic/Cal/Dens/Neu run(s). Also allow for quite a few hours spent on the first attempt at running the formation tester and dicking around on surface trouble shooting and repairing tools.

Im pretty sure they went into TH at start of formation test tool operations.

Chances of retrieving the tool are very high since its the cable stuck not the tool itself. Usually in this situation the action of stripping the fishing string over the wireline will knock it free from the borehole wall...esp if it's differentially stuck
