@Grfe4
To be honest, I thought there was less attention todetail in the report compared to the M-1 reports. For example, they have justdrilled through what was expected to be the richest hydrocarbon zones and therewas no mention of cuttings fluorescence.As updip, it is possible that gas migration has occurred. But the presence of C4-C5 indicates possible condensate. At reservoir conditions it is in the gaseous phase, but not liquid until pressure / temperature decreased and as such there would not be fluorescence. As Scott has indicated earlier all indications were that hydrocarbons are on the periphery of liquids/condensates phases. I was testing 2 wells at the same time and the Condensate Gas Ratio on both wells was ~60 bbls/mmscf. For one well the subsurface guys said it was an oil well and on the other it was a gas well. Go figure.
In addition, the M-1 reports included comments on"oil resistivity" rather than gas resistivity, but today all we readis elevated resistivity.
I have never seen that reference, and as both oil and gas have no conductivity, they would both respond the same to the resistivity log.
I thought they had special sampling for helium?
Samples were taken onsite, but needed to be shipped to a specialist lab. This was done months after TD.
I realise the shale shaker gas trap configuration may bedifferent but if background gas is higher than in M-1, then we would expectpeak gas levels to exceed 65 or even exceed 135. Could it be a definiteindication of more oil prone rather than rich gas condensate in M-2?
Everybody is looking too much into the mud gas readings, especially not seeing the logs and only having a peak measurement. These peaks only assist in targeting zones for future wireline logging.
The positives;- High Gas Peaks – HYDROCARBONS
- Low LWD GR – SANDS
- High LWD Resistivity – HYDROCARBONS
- Drilling Breaks – SANDS (porous ?)
- Losses – SANDS (permeable ?) … could be fractures ?
Just one further comment. All the references to 20TCF, 30 TCF while possible will not be substantiated by MK-2. It will take many wells before numbers like this could be substantiated. At this time, it is still just all speculation and will remain thus after this well.
