The cable is differentially sticking (getting sucked) against the borehole wall. Its a function of formation permeability (which we want) and the difference between mud hydrostatic and formation pressure (minimized with lower mud weight than M1....but we cant go any lower as well appears to be close to balanced).

IVZ have fully disclosed that differential sticking of the wireline cable is the issue.

During drilling you will always get invasion of mud fluid component into the formation. When you set an MDT probe into the formation and start the tools pump out sub the first fluid into the tool flow line will be the mud filtrate being drawn back out of the near bore invasion zone. Over time the flow will clean up and you will get less filtrate and more clean formation fluid. This applies to any pump out/sampling operation with a formation test tool.

If the probe packer was leaking you would see the following: 1) for intermittent loss of seal - high pressure spikes on the tool pressure gauges. For total loss of seal - mud hydrostatic showing on the pressure gauges. 2) mud indications on the CFA analyzer.
