This is ridiculous. From a fundamental trading point of view, if you've done your research and believe the company is undervalued at the current price, it's asinine to suggest you're better off averaging up than down.
The authors argument is primarily backed by emotional issues, which are a problem for any financial strategy.
At the end of the day, you should always try to buy a share in a quality company at the lowest price possible, providing it aligns with your financial risk tolerance.
