This is incredibly encouraging.
Most patients with pancreatic cancer, even those with distant metastases, die from local spread to the liver and liver failure from hepatic duct obstruction.
It makes sense that anything that slows this will extend life, and quality of life.
I have often wondered why they didn't aim to get approval for this indication from the beginning, rather than the one they have - as most patients are diagnosed late and are inoperable.
This patient population (active palliation) and thus the likely market is orders of magnitude higher
