To get a reflection on a seismic survey, you need a change in rock density and/or the acoustic properties of the rock (I.e you need a contrast in acoustic impedance). Looking at the plates 2a etc, they appear to be associated with the basalt interval in NPDD008. Mafic and ultra mafic rocks are already pretty dense (due to Mg and Fe content) so there needs to be a pretty big change in the geology here. As these rocks are already hard as shit (thinking about accoutic properties here) the reflections are likely *arm waving* due to density contrasts. What's dense? Sulphides. The angle doesn't really worry me; these could be extrussive in nature or intrusive (exploiting contacts between lithologies). Time will tell on this one. In short, two interesting pieces of geophysical "evidence" around the plates at about 500m+.
