If I was running the show, i too would wait for lab confirmation before saying anything to the public. To make even a minor error would destroy my credbility, so I would wait until i have the all important lab results before i talked specifics.
Spodumene fluoresces...so the night shift will see it sticking out like dogs balls under a UV light.
Hand held XRF would also help with some of the other funky stuff.
Collating all this field data in a form that would comply with ASX rules, is pretty time consuming. Id prefer the team to be focused on accurate logging and keeping their eyes open for key clues, rather than visually estimating percentages and triple checking subjective data. This would be something I would do AFTER I finish the drilling. If you're under the pump vis a vis your land access agreement, you focus on doing what you need to do to complete your program. You would use field data to inform where to put the next Diamond Drill hole and how deep to drill the hole you are currently drilling.

The fact they're doing more DD holes tells you they're chasing mineralisation - down dip and along strike from what @roblun has stated from GE and sentinel images. The surface sampling data tells you spod is there. It is now just a matter of how much and what else comes with it.
