The quartz diorite porphyry is considered to be an earlier intrusive phase associated with the porphyry emplacement but occurring prior to the observed copper/gold mineralisation event. They are essentially looking to target the hotter core of the system as the source of mineralisation which they believe to be located at the intersection of the NSS and the CLS (See Target A below). This is on the basis that these structures are acting as conduits for hydrothermal magmatic fluids to flow along from the magmatic source and this evidenced by the two higher grade drill intercepts encountered within those structures in Hole 044. If you follow the drill trace of hole 44 below you can hopefully get a bit of a better picture of what the cross section represents. As you can also see below, hole 45 is expected to replicate intercepting those same structures albeit with likely higher grades and the subsequent hole/s to the South are a good chance of hitting the porphyry core itself. There is however two distinct styles of mineralisation occurring and they are also targeting another possible porphyry source of copper mineralisation that has been previously targeted without success by past explorers below the observed alteration zones (See Target C below). This will be targeted separately by the 2nd drill rig.
