being under bendigo and being in victoria, the red tape i would imagine would stretch from here to the sun and back again.
it was the state government that decided the lower tour be shut down and the water level aloud to rise - why i dont know - water and water disposal a big problem for any development at Bendigo among many other things. the town was built on gold ( literally) but of course the modern public dont want to know about it except as tourist income.
go to WA and drill to your hearts content in the middle of nowhere and likely find yourself a gold mine - with the blessing of the state government.
