I have a more mature attitude now.
Only sold a few very very reluctantly in the 40's here because of other urgent family needs and more than replaced that number since as replacement funds became available.
Sometimes the management is where the value is and worth far more than the value of the plant/site production that you see.

Anyone who can make a silk purse out of a sows ear is worth keeping an eye on as they are often worth far more than the business is they CURRENTLY run.
Plenty of Sow's ears being collected here no-one else really wanted at the time they were signed up for.
However when there is a plan,to use them in the immediate/near future,at a profit ,they start polishing up a fair bit and look rather shiny now.
When you buy a sow's ear there are usually issues to resolve that's why they are cheap.
Once the issues get resolved the value rises,so there is hidden value accretion on the purchase price agreed.
Much has been made of outstanding legal issues related to purchases.
If it doesn't go through for any reason,then all you've actually lost is your signature on the contract and a future potential direction.
If that has tripled or quadrupled the companies value since your purchase then your 4x is just reflecting that and no more.
IMHO - Far Better a profitable growth company than one consuming it's shareholders assets at a loss on the way to oblivion.
