Munglinup Project tests positive for nickel and copper

Assays confirm presence of nickel and copper in sulphide mineralisation

Assay results on second batch of targeted samples due mid-to-late August 2013 EM data interpretation identifies high priority nickel sulphide and graphite targets Planning underway for sampling and drilling programs to test targets

Lithex Resources Limited (ASX: LTX) is pleased to announce that while explicitly testing for graphite prospectivity at the Munglinup Project in far south Western Australia, unexpected levels of nickel and copper were identified during geological logging of the first set of diamond core samples.
Assays were then commissioned to test the validity of these field observations and identify any traces of base and precious metals, including copper and nickel. The results of these assays have now been received and confirmed the presence of nickel and copper in this first set of samples (which were actually selected for their graphite prospectivity).

The most significant result was:
3.5m @1664 ppm Ni; 764 ppm Cu; and 717 ppm Co in MCDD001, from 46.3m to 49.8m

In addition, the assays yielded a peak gold value of 14 ppb and a peak value of platinum plus palladium of 67 ppb. (See figure 1 for images of the core)

We are now following up these results with a precious and base metals focused batch of assays, with the results expected to be received and reported in mid to late August.”
