I don't agree. It's not day traders or tax loss because the volume isn't enough. It's deliberate market manipulation with small low-ball trades at the end of day/week that force the recorded day or week price to be less than it really is.The problem is that price charting does not consider volume. So a small low-ball sell that only comes to $300 'devalues' the other $50m+ shares. There is often several of these, and not surprisingly the individual volumes being sold and bought are the same or similar. In reality, you can't actually buy many shares at the last price shown (i.e. 10c). So it doesn't reflect the average value of the shares, but only the extreme the tail end of the spectrum. The only way the ASX can sort this shite out is to normalise the price somehow. Of course it's too difficult for them, so the rules don't change.
