big assumption you make that intraday traders are able to pick those bottoms and tops within the day to squeeze out those percentages.....
my experience of knowing and talking to people in this industry is it is very rare you find a successful long term intraday trader.........the discipline of cutting losses short when your timing is not in your favour usually burns them (given your wins are only for a few points) OR usually ties up their capital as they then "become" long term investors in the stock.....
