I just don't understand why this was really necessary ?
to pay off an unsecured revolving bank bill not due for another two years?
the forecast 280m cash that they will have on their balance is going to evaporate swiftly.
I would have thought issuing a hybrid security would have made more sense; with conversion options
Would have given them the balance sheet strength to go to war with the short sellers.
Maybe I am too simplistic... I simply dont understand why a deeply discounted share issue was necessary?
Please explain... all opinions welcome.
At the moment i only see this as a way to help out the melbourne boys club exit their short positions.
