Whether the change has any tangible impact on Myer is arguable - personally, I think the flow-on effects could go elsewhere, like Kogan and other discount retailers - but equating the US and AUS Amazon services is chalk and cheese, and I can only imagine that comparison would be formed by those who have never used either service (at least with any degree of regularity).
I've spent thousands over the years buying anything and everything from the US Amazon service. The localised version is in many ways watered down, taking into account limited range, higher prices and poorer accessibility. Even with the mooted 'special' product range they plan to add, I'd still be skeptical at best.
