Yes, if they electrify the mine vehicles (or should I say when they electrify), and all of the arsenic and any other nasties in the tailings gets sent back underground locked in the paste backfill, it's hard to see how the mine could become greener. Wonder if the haulage train to Burnie is electric? They did say they were going to look at the business case for electrification, but no news of that. My guess is that electrification will add costs, but I could be wrong, and I guess Hartree will be the financial winners - making sales easier and perhaps at a premium to otherwise. We'll have to wait 5 years for the offtake renewal for any financial benefit, if any. Still it's great PR and will help if the East Avebury open pit John Lamb mentioned eventuates.
