Another way to look at this is to compare the new acquisition with the Metrics sale.
FY22, Metrics contributed AUD42.2m. I think the new acquisition will replace that and more.
So, by selling Metrics, they paid off their massively inhibitive debt pile, will return some capital to long-suffering shareholders, and will acquire a more profitable portfolio with greater synergies and growth potential long term. Looks like good business to me.
The alternative was to keep doing what they were doing with the same results and a long slow death rattle. Execution is still key, but I like the new proactive approach.
