that is not right at all.
you can trade shares on revenue account, not capital and claim against ordinary income (wages) if you meet certain criteria. You can even clearly have some on trading (revenue) and other holdings on capital (cgt) account so long as it’s clearly identifiable. Capital losses also carry forward forever.
