NAME: HBL: Heartland Amalgamation Now Effective

Heartland Amalgamation Now Effective

31 December 2015

Heartland New Zealand Limited (Heartland) (NZX: HNZ) confirms that the
amalgamation with its wholly-owned subsidiary, Heartland Bank Limited
(company number 4255999), is now effective as at today, 31 December 2015.  As
part of the amalgamation:

o Heartland has changed its legal name to "Heartland Bank Limited";
o Heartland's company number remains the same (3152425);
o Heartland's NZX ticker is now "HBL"; and
o Heartland's ISIN remains the same (NZBSHE0001S0).

The amalgamation has been undertaken in order to simplify Heartland's group
structure, which was the product of the merger of three separate financial
institutions in 2011, the corporatisation of what was then Heartland Building
Society and a number of key business acquisitions.
