A joint patent for the new product creates legal ownership of the new process/product for both entities. One can't go off and produce anything covered by this patent without the others permission or some form of redress/compensation if they do.
How NC6 will monetize their interest in this tech is uncertain. It could range from licensing to outright sale to a joint venture in a specialised production facility for the new product. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Exciting times.
