Wrong Wrong Wrong Jambon1
You said "But an intelligent sterilization service sounds expensive. There probably won't be much uptake beyond the hospitals, airports, and other facilities that are currently using this type of service, right?" WRONG
What do you think this covid-19 virus has already COST THE GLOBAL economy??? Billions or Trillions??
Governments and companies around the world are having to spend trillions of dollars collectively due to this virus. So what if there is another virus in 12 months time?
The world will change forever so your comment of "sounds expensive" is a little bit ignorant with all due respect purely based on the economic devastation this has caused globally.
You said "Even still, facilities and organizations are resistant to change. So only a small number will be proactive and reach out to use that funding to add a service like this, right?" WRONG
This has caused the entire world to change and rethink. To say "only a small number will be proactive" is quite naive at best because those that dont conform to new practices will lose out in the long run.
You said "But if something like this does not become mandatory, there will not be the right environmental pressures to encourage widespread uptake of something like this, right? WRONG
The environmental pressures will come from the public at large and already in Australia the Government is putting in place NEW TRAINING requirements for many workers including hospitality etc. There will be mandatory health procedures implement ALL over the world especially for travel on domestic and international flights. Just the same when after 911 ALL airlines had marshals on board every flight.
This COVID-19 epidemic is a GAME CHANGER for the world and it will never be the same again.
