Great conference call so far. I think the entire deal was summarized well by Pat: "Forget what you know about Goro". NCZ could have a real winner here. At the core of this deal is a simple idea: take a very large, expensive, capital-intensive and complex nickel refining operation and simplify the flowsheet via elimination. Flip the current 80:20 production (80% nickel oxides and 20% MHP) to 100% MHP to exploit battery metal potential and sell what was previously been a high-impurity feed (saprolite) and export it as DSO. As Pat points, out, they're going into this with eyes wide open. They're not expecting to grind the same operations harder and hope for a different outcome to Vale. They're not adding some new widget to magically turn things around. They're going to implement a fundamental change to the flowsheet. So to the people that argue that NCZ can't turnaround Goro when Vale can't - true. They probably can't and they definitely wont be trying. This is a new and wonderful approach to what's been a dud for Vale.

The hugely positive new environmental tailings plan (dry stack) would of been looked upon favorably alongside the strong Au/Fr relationship. That possibly dwarfed other bidders well known to decimate countries through loans, pollution, and installing their own labor forces (I.E PRC).
