We are likely heading toward recession, judging by the current reporting from the US. People spend much less, and the cost of almost everything is horrendous. Many junior miners have started pulling back activity to conserve cash in the current economic environment to prevent being forced to raise money at ridiculous prices and cause severe dilutions to shareholders. Whether that's the way to go, who knows, but it doesn't seem unreasonable. It is almost impossible to predict whether the bottom will be, but I wouldn't throw all my money into buying stocks at the moment.
