Yes, Nearmap uses its textured 3D mesh to produce the roof geometry and measuurements that then goes into any report. It deliberately avoided doing any roof geometry measurement on oblique and ortho imagery because of the EagleView patent.
That said, I am not a patent lawyer, so I have no idea how broadly the EagleView patent can be interpreted. It seems to me though that in order to prevent Nearmap from working with its 3D mesh it would require a **very* broad interpretation, that would effectively prevent anyone from doing any measurement or triangulation involving imagery, which would be ridiculous. But maybe ridiculous is not out of the question when it comes to patent law DYOR
