Without going into details, I have done some personal work on my local member of Parliament.

I chose to contact my members office directly. My goal was to have a face to face with the member. While this didn't happen, I did charm myself to a face to face meeting with one of her advisors (not sure if that is her title) and explained as best I could and took as many details printed for them.

While no promises, I was told that they would discuss this with the member and if appropriate they will go to the Minister with my concerns.

The angle I went with wasn't about the price, rather the IP leaving Australia for what it is worth and felt this was of interest.

Finger crossed.

If we could get a few more making this move with their own members who knows. After all, apparently we live in a democracy.
