Prior to close date many holders could ensure that their family members have shares as seperate holdings as they all get a vote. Super funds, company name wife husband etc etc.
Just to be clear is it 50% shareholders or 50% of shares on issue ?
Used to be a rule that bidder must get 75% of holdings but I am out of date
