I dont know if JB was the "head honcho" over the period when the fund was doing well.... he may have been there but still had his training wheels on. I heard him interviewed on a free to air show ----usbiz the other day and his performance was halting, hesitant and very uninspiring. ALF is a stock that tests my patience....... you can see the abjectly poor performance over years, you can see a dud fund manager, you can see the mistakes etc etc etc, but you cant do anything about it. Even the NTA is declining at the moment.... One of the posters on HC uses JB as an information source from his quarterly newsletters, reads his detailed analysis of say one stock, and then goes out and buys it on his own, and seems to make money. JB on the other hand is so confused and muddled by his foray into international stocks (now out) but also his short play and the percentages of shorts and longs, that even if he gets a good stock right... the rest of his strategy destroys the value obtained.
