over the last year long / short managed funds have done reasonably well l have been invested in PGF for a decade and want another to add over the next few years so l have taken an opening position in LSF as l add.
just at the moment l also like covered call index funds (UMAX) as a score of high quarterly yield a % of which has been tax free (capital return). but you don't get much capital growth.
I have found they offer a regular income stream and l like the short positions.
