Pete, I am unsure of your motives/thinking here. You recently brought to our attention that there may not be another SPP raise next year and management was looking at a market cap of 1B - points reinforced by Dozzaman - that would disincentivise management to raise more capital.
So why raise the prospect of "waiting for another spp next year.." The reality is that around $1.15, PL8 is good buying in historical terms vis an NTA of some $1.02. You need to take into account that the attraction of PL8 for most shareholders is the monthly dividends and to a lesser extent, the franking credits, not the capital gain. It is a kinda buy and forget, while living it up on the monthly divvies.
To me the biggest issue that will impact on share price will come from higher interest rate offerings that PL8 cannot/will not match. The current monthly dividend is 5.5%, which is about the yield on a rollover bank interest account. Not all shareholders will need or use the franking credits.
