Majority or the time companies don’t write their own announcements. They’re written by the firm they engage to release the announcements. This is true even for the “quotes” that are referenced within the announcements. The information is drafted and sent to the company for a check on the content, then released to the public.
It would be very easy for a slight grammatical error like the above to slip through.
