My ability to pick where share price are likely to go is truly pathetic. Admittedly the deal only involves $10m to be received now, but compare the deal overall with VLA. VLA disappointed me - a lot - as after 10 year we had a one-off payment and no further upside. This is the opposite. Small up-front payment but double digit royalties plus some more progress payments sounds good to me (albeit with risks). Some seem concerned with the size of Acadia but it is probably the only reason NEU have an offer of double digit royalties. Big Pharma and we may well have a one-off payment at a 30% premium and that is it.
Acadia seem to be aiming to specialise in this space and as at 31/7 -
Cash and Investments
At March 31, 2018, ACADIA’s cash, cash equivalents and investment securities totaled $298.1 million, compared to $341.3 million at December 31, 2017.
For me, this is great news, so see such a huge fall in price amazed me.
Anyway, time will tell I guess.
