Around this time last year we had the appointment of Gerry Zhao as VP of Corporate Development to “work with CEO Jon Pilcher on all partnering, M&A and investor activities”.
Gerry has deep connections in Asia, especially China.
Today we have the appointment of Joe Basile as a Non-Executive Director. Joe is said to have “deep experience in corporate mergers and acquisitions, capital management and overseeing expansion activities across multiple countries”.
Joe is currently CFO for the iNova Group, which is based in Singapore but covers predominantly Asia and ANZ. He previously worked as Finance Director for Novartis, again in Asia and ANZ.
Interesting that both M&A partnering and capital management appointees have deep networks in Asia, rather than the US or Europe. A sign of future direction?
