My guess is that at the point of diagnosing HIE, physicians would administer 2591 to control neuroinflammtion and other symptoms. The baby is now in a critical condition and needs the same attention as an adult with stroke. What the dosage form will look like will be interesting, I'd have to assume it's an injectable solution or similar.
Regardless of the injury sustained (stroke or other brain tissue damage) 2591 should be applicable across the board and decrease the time to treatment. My hope is that 2591 can streamline the initial diagnosis and decrease time from birth to treatment:
"Baby is born, baby has low muscle tone or other visual symptoms. Ok administer 2591 while we perform MRIs to determine brain damage and confirm the diagnosis. Yep, HIE confirmed, let's keep the baby on treatment over the coming days". Or something like that.
