In the oil industry (eagleford shales ) they can get a tighter radius by not rotating the string (which reduces the chance of breakage) and instead use a drill motor just behind the bit .
I lost plenty of money on Austin exploration and their directional drilling for oilabout 10 years ago
Would be better if SPR just puts in an adit via a portal in the Dalgaranga pit and drill from a plat inside the adit IMHO .
